Being born again” (John 3: 1-15)

Purpose: To “see the Kingdom of God” or to know who Jesus Christ is (verses 2, 3)

Manner: By being “born of water and the Spirit” (verses 5-6, 8 see also John 4:14; 7:37-39; 19:34-35

Timing: At the time of “the lifting up (or the crucifixion) of the Son of Man” (verses 14, 15)

• The “blood” signifying the manner of His death and
• The “water” (or the Holy Spirit) signifying His work of baptism both resulting in Sustainable faith
